The digital exhibits in this gallery were built by students in Lorraine Janzen Kooistra’s class, ENG222: Fairy Tales and Fantasies, in Winter 2013 semester. Students selected a book to curate from the the Children’s Literature Archive (CLA), a special collection of rare and classic children’s books under the directorship of Ryerson University’s Department of English. In presenting their selected folk or fairy tale book to the public, the authors are keen to situate the book in its publishing context, and to analyze the kind of cultural work it performed in its own time and place. We hope you enjoy browsing the site and reading its exhibits. We welcome your feedback in the comments section.
